Convert a HEIC photo in three steps
Choose or drop a .heic or supported .heif file, select Convert to JPG, then download the result. JPG and high quality are already selected. The preview and size comparison help you check the photo before using it.
Turn a supported HEIC or HEIF photo into a widely accepted JPG. Your photo stays on your device; compatibility depends on the file and browser.
Convert to JPG, then download.
HEIC / HEIF · up to 30 MBHEIC/HEIF: supported tiled SDR photos up to 50 MP for original-size JPG; large-photo PNG/WebP output up to 4 MP. Other variants have lower safety limits.Choose or drop a .heic or supported .heif file, select Convert to JPG, then download the result. JPG and high quality are already selected. The preview and size comparison help you check the photo before using it.
The local decoder applies supported HEIC crop, rotation and mirror settings. Original dimensions are kept unless you set a different size in Advanced options. Only the primary still photo is converted; Live Photo video, depth maps and bursts are not exported.
JPEG is useful for forms and software that cannot open HEIC. Transparent areas become white. Conversion is lossy, and the JPG may be larger than the HEIC. HDR, wide-gamut colour and original EXIF metadata are not preserved as an archival copy.
UploadMint processes supported images in your browser. Your image is not uploaded to a processing server, and no account is needed. Closing the page clears the working image.
Yes. UploadMint loads its decoder onto your device and converts the photo in your browser. Image bytes, filenames and previews are not sent to a conversion server.
Use the Files picker if Photos supplies a JPG automatically. Export or save an unmodified HEIC to Files first, then choose that file. UploadMint shows the actual detected format rather than trusting the filename.
Not reliably on every iPhone or photo. A supported tiled file can keep its original dimensions as JPG, but 48MP iPhone Safari compatibility remains unresolved in physical-device testing. If your file fails, keep the original and export a JPG with your device's photo tools; changing the output KB setting will not fix a decoding failure.
Supported independent-tile HEVC .heic and .heif photos can use bounded processing up to 50 megapixels, within the 30 MB input and 12,000-pixel side limits. Full-resolution JPG requires a supported SDR tile layout, colour profile and browser worker. Other HEIC files remain limited to 25 megapixels with native decoding or 24 megapixels with the compatibility decoder. Unsupported layouts fail with an explanation instead of using an unbounded fallback. These are processing ceilings, not a guarantee that every photo below them will work on every device.
